There are four user types in Kapiche: Admin, Creator, Explorer and Viewer.

An Admin User has unrestricted access to all Kapiche Projects, can add/remove other Creator, Explorer and Viewer users, change user-access levels and can access all areas of Kapiche.

Creator Users have access to all areas of Kapiche but can only access Projects that they have created themselves or Projects that they have been explicitly invited to. This includes building analyses, configuring themes, querying the data, and sharing Workbenches.

Explorer Users have read-only access to the specific Workbenches that they have been invited to. They can interactively explore those insights — switching between metrics, drilling into themes to understand the “why”, and applying filters — but cannot build or configure analyses themselves (such as creating themes or running queries).

Explorers can also use Ask Kapiche to explore the underlying feedback data conversationally, using the analysis they have been given access to as context.

Viewers have read-only access to the specific Smart Reports that have been shared with them. They can't see Workbenches, projects or any other reports in the same analysis, and they can't use Ask Kapiche. Viewers are ideal for stakeholders who just need to read a report, such as store, region or team managers.

A Viewer account is created automatically when you share a Smart Report with someone who isn't yet a user on your site. They'll receive an email invitation to view the report. You can also invite a Viewer from the Users page by choosing Viewer as the user type and adding them to one or more reports. If your site has approved email domains, people from those domains are given access the first time they open a report shared with them.
