What are theme groups?

Theme groups are like folders that contain themes (and other theme groups) that allow you to organise your themes in a systematic way. They allow you to easily monitor and report on higher-level groupings while still maintaining granular themes.

How do I create theme groups?

When viewing the Theme Builder page you should see a "Create Group" button on the left panel.

Clicking that button will open a dialog that allows you to give the group a name and select which themes to include in it. We're going to call the group "Products" and add the existing "Product range" theme to it.

Prior to this group being created, the "Product range" theme was in the "Ungrouped themes" list. Any theme not in a group will be included in this list.

After creating the group we can see it in the left panel, and notice that the "Ungrouped themes" list is now empty.

How do I move themes into a group?

In the scenario that you want to move an existing theme into an existing theme group, you can just use drag and drop on the left panel.

You can also drag a group inside another group to create multiple levels in your theme framework.

How do I add a new theme into a group?

When saving a new theme, you'll have the option to select which group it should be added to.

How do I delete a Theme Group?

When hovering over a theme group on the left panel, you'll see a "..." menu. When you click it you'll see the option to delete.

Note: Deleting theme groups will not delete the themes within; Instead child themes will be moved up to the next group, or into the "Ungrouped themes" list.

How do I view theme groups on the dashboard?

Most of the widgets on the dashboard will have the option to select theme groups as the data as an alternative to themes.

Additionally, anywhere that themes are displayed, the containing theme group(s) will displayed in square brackets.

You can disable and re-enable the display of group labels in the Dashboard CUSTOMIZE menu.
