A Time of day field holds a clock time on its own, without a date, such as when a call started or when a survey was submitted. Five9 and NICE CXone call logs often have a column like this.

If your file has a full date and time in one column (2026-10-29 14:30), use Date Time instead.

Fractions of a second are dropped. A value Kapiche can't read, such as "n/a", is left blank and the rest of the column imports.

Kapiche never converts a time of day to another timezone. A call that starts at 09:00 in the file shows as 09:00 for every user, wherever they are. If your source system exports times in UTC, they show in UTC.

When you upload your file, Kapiche suggests Time of day for columns of clock times that don't look like durations, such as Call Start or Time Submitted. Check the suggestion on the schema step, and change the field type to Time of day if needed. A note under the table reminds you that times are kept as written.

Time of day can only be chosen when a project is created. To change an existing field to Time of day, re-upload the data into a new project with that field type.

Add a filter on the field and choose is greater than or is less than. Type a time such as 09:00 or 2:30 pm. For a range, choose is in the range and type both ends, for example 09:00 to 12:00.

A range that crosses midnight (22:00 to 02:00) can't be filtered in one go yet.

Filters, Segmentation, Timeline, Query Details and Ask Kapiche show times as clock times, such as 14:30. Each distinct time is its own segment, so Segmentation doesn't group times into hours. Data exports give times as seconds since midnight (14:30 is 52200).
