To ensure we maintain the highest level of security and protection for your data, Kapiche requires you to have Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) setup in order to create and log in to your Kapiche account!

In this guide we cover:

Setting up MFA for the first time

  1. Once you've finished creating your Kapiche account you'll be asked to secure your account either by scanning the QR Code or by manually entering the code with an Authenticator App on your phone.

  2. Download your favourite mobile authenticator app on your phone (we recommend Google Authenticator, 1Password or Duo!)

  3. Follow the steps in your authenticator app to scan/add a new code

  4. Enter your one-time code into Kapiche

  5. Save your recovery code in a safe & secure place (you'll need this if you lose access to your authenticator app!)

  6. Done!

Tip: Select "Remember this device for 30 days" to avoid having to enter your MFA code each time you log in to Kapiche!

Resetting your MFA

If you need to reset your MFA (e.g. perhaps you've lost or upgraded your phone) please reach out to us by starting a live chat using the blue chat button to the bottom-right corner of any Kapiche page and we'll give you hand!)

Tip: In the short term, you can use your recovery code to gain temporary access to Kapiche while we work with you on resetting your MFA!

Frequently Asked Questions:

How often will I need to enter my MFA code?

If you've selected to remember your device then you'll only need to enter your MFA code again after 30 days, otherwise you'll need to enter it again if you haven't accessed Kapiche for more than 30 minutes.

You'll also be asked to enter your MFA code again if you change browsers/devices.

If I perform MFA for my Google or Microsoft login will I also need to do it when accessing Kapiche?

Absolutely! Providers such as Google and Microsoft understandably don't share this information with us, so you'll still need to perform Kapiche's 2FA challenge!

What authenticator apps do you support?

We've officially tested with Google Authenticator, 1Password and Duo but you're welcome to try any authenticator app.

Don't hesitate to let us know if you run into any issues with with a different authenticator and we can take a look (see below)!
